Eventful Week
[info]tenkabuto
This week I started and finished customizing my Windows XP comp, now that I got it to work! Then....it crapped out on me. So I had to format my 200mb of icons I downloaded, then fresh install XP. v.v" Thankfully I had Foxmarks for Firefox and had bookmarked all the icons and customization tools and styles that I decided to use! So now I have customized my comp again, even better now!

My Lucky Duckies Donation Application
[info]tenkabuto
Username: Lazy Brandon
Item you're questing for: Golden Laurels
Current progress: 300k /

Have you quested before, if so, what? I quested for an Angelic Scarf and I got it by means of donation from a friend of mine. =]

Why do you think you deserve the donation? This single question has kept me from applying for the previous few Donation Applications and I think I may have a good answer *finally*:
I'm more of a social Gaian, I try to spend as much time as I can on Gaia, talking and chatting with members is a major hobby of mine; but this method of surviving in Gaia's growing economic market doesn't support the items I'd like to obtain and eventually move on with chattery while happy with the items I adore.

People advise me to learn the ways of "playing" the market in my favor to possibly contribute earned profits towards my funds for the items I like and would like to obtain, and I have started doing that and am happy to say that it is starting to help! Playing of the market takes a long time though and the values of the items I would like rise casually up the charts. icon_sad.gif For example this is the recent value chart for Golden Laurels:

Hey
[info]tenkabuto
I haven't been active lately because I've become addicted to Maple Story *again*. My friend got me playing and influenced me to try getting to level 30, 30 is the level for becoming your next job and in my case it's for becoming an Assassin, and I've been trying fiercely lately to get as much experience points as I can. Last night I *finally* got to level 30, passed the Assassin test, and finally became one! I'm now really happy with myself in it and I can concentrate on more social stuff in the game and you guys more.

Today kinda sucks though, California's being blasted with storms and the power keeps going in-and-out so I can't do games nor really anything on the computer.. emo.gif Hopefully it'll clear up soon and I can get back on. It isn't all bad though, this does allow me to get a leg-up on my Math homework..

I found a few, awesome things today.

1. Cell phones are now really cool to me. No, not because of texting, texting is fucking retarded. I like them now because of those sexy wallpapers you can buy from the cell phone services for the newer, high quality screens. I like these because of the girls. The tons upon tons of wallpapers you can buy of appealing pictures of women in them. But why pay for them? Oh no, I'm not one to give into commercial faggotry, I drool over the previews. ;)

2. I found like.. one of the most classic comics on the net. + It's pixelated. Hell yes. Click here to check it out. So far, as I'm not too far, it's everything I want in an online comic. Plus it's not centered around games for once! Meaning no jargon for me to miss out on.

A quick blog..
[info]tenkabuto
This weekend was rather uneventful, yet quite fun. My Dad, little brother, and I went around cruising in the new home developments, many of which are being built with the screwed up market, and my Dad found this park again that he's know of before but forgot how to get to it, with all of the housing developments being like mazes and all looking the same. So we found it, got out and just walked around the place. It was quite nice, it had lots of beautifully cut grass, a small-ish putting area (Golf) and we kind of figured out that it was a retirement community. The park was right next to the community center and was hidden with houses surrounding the area so you really can't see the park from an outside view point, but it had a public entrance so we may go back to it some other time. What was interesting is that they had a track around the grass sections with structures for working out on, one of them just about ripped off my tailbone and would probably do quite a bit of damage to an elderly person, some were nice, others were ridiculous and would require a great amount of physical training to use.

Today was the uneventful part of the weekend. After going through such a long period of limited physical performance and jumping right into those working out apparatuses I was torn up, been quite sick today and all of my muscles hurt quite badly. Today I did, though, try some Tennis with my little brother. It was alright, we both aren't very good, but the time together was fun. I've taken an interest in Tennis since my friend, Tuong, started playing and inviting me to join him and his friends in playing. I got a little inventive, I made a wall out of wood for me to have the ball hit off and come back at me in my backyard. Setting up a net system would be very appreciated, the Tennis Balls kept going over fences. c. c

Nostalgia
[info]tenkabuto
So I decided to checking out some old pasttimes today. I visited my first favorite forum, the first place I ever commited myself to on the internet. While IMing with my friend, whom I met through the forum and have been great online buddies ever since, we were checking out our first posts, seeing when we first became literate, when I got into graphics, those people I looked up to as role models and eventually surpassed in graphical talent, and I started to realize that I really.. don't like my old self. He was quite nooby. He was my 12 year old self, the one that blatantly clicked the agree link without reading the Guidelines that said you must be atleast 13 years old. He made small, needless posts with childish humor and seemingly had never heard of the shift key (Except on those situations where he would like to add in an apostrophy for the nose of a smiley face: =']) and cared little of what he said, other than hurting other peoples feelings.

References for those of you who aren't digety down with all the funky fresh lingo:

Noob - A person whom seems to know little of rules, laughs at their own jokes, and tends to make weird sexist jokes which no one ever understands and just ends up looking like an idiot.
Smiley Faces - Generally they are text which resembles emotions. There are different kinds:
- The Horizontal Smileys ( =] ), if you turn your head 45 degrees counter-clockwise you should see a smiling face. If you don't.. take off your sunglasses.
- The Vertical Smileys ( ^_^ ), these are smiley faces which can be easier to see, but they can also be technical, such as...eh, you're already probably confused. Stick to the Horizontal Smileys.

Fixing the Patching Problem
[info]tenkabuto
A lot of people are having problems with the Patching. In my household we have two computers, one a laptop (Vista) and the other a desktop (XP). The Desktop patched beautifully with no problems at all, while the laptop hadn't been working until I did a few things. By popular demand I'm writing a tutorial on how I got my Laptop to patch.

Before really trying to get it to work I followed the instructions from someone on the Maple Story forums about opening the Patcher through the My Computer browser. As it was a technical problem, this didn't work at all and still gave me the error message with the weird characters or the Patcher would get stuck after completing the first step.

I kept trying to get the Patcher to patch and kept getting a popup from Windows Firewall about the pather being blocked. So I re-added the Patcher and the other Maplestory files to the Windows Firewall Exceptions List.

How do do this: (Note: These instructions are for Vista and should be able to be carried out in XP.)

1. Click the Start menu and double-click on Control Panel.
2. In the left side click the top option Control Panel Home (For the new Control Panel layout)
3. Under Security click "Allow a program through Windows Firewall" and wait for the list to popup.
4. Click "Add program" under the Exceptions tab.
5. Click "Browse..." and go to the directory that Maple Story is installed to.
    Either C:\Program Files\Nexon\Maplestory\ or C:\Nexon\Maplestory\

6. Add all of the programs in there to the lists by double-clicking the program then clicking "OK". (If you have previously added the programs to the Exceptions list, please delete them before re-adding.)

And it should work. I turned off my Firewall (From step 6 you'd click the General tab and clicking Off and the "OK" button.) for more assurance that it'd work.

Please comment if this has helped you. =]

Wall O' Ye Crappy Quotes
[info]tenkabuto
"Okay, notice here the bad grammar, improper capitalization, and multiple "dots". This, class, is what we call a "noOb post". Not to be confused with a "n00b post". Completely different, as the "n00b" would deliberately piss people off. A "noOb" just pisses people off by posting about stuff that they don't know a thing about."

"Nah, Pat might come in there randomly typing as if he had beerbottles as fingers then turns to a camera and develops some crack-headed smile like Tom from MySpace has."

"Why? So you can fap to my face? icon_gonk.gif"

Quotes
[info]tenkabuto
These are all quotes that I have said in numerous places that I've found great and funny.

"RO isn't some LoTr piece of crap where a villager just had his donkey stolen, hell no, you're gonna go knock some skulls."

Hmm, today...
[info]tenkabuto
Today was alright. Not much was done, most of it was occupied by going to my doctor's appointment and a long trip to the city's new Goodwill. I managed to get a USB Gamepad which I'm trying to setup to use on Street Fighter roms and stuff.

Also, today I found a tutorial on the Ubuntu Forums for using Game Maker on Ubuntu. This kicked up an interest in making a game, now I'll just be browsing tutorial sites while Game Maker is installing in Crossover.

If I do make a game, I hope it will be for my comic idea of "Undead Gamer: Immortality Sucks". The game would be where you play as a dead teenager who comes back from the grave after his newly filled grave is struck by lightning and you figure out that even though you're now an immortal zombie, life sucks even more.

Got Ego?
[info]tenkabuto
This is one of my few ideas of a comic storyline and if it was to be made it would be put in the About section or something.

"Got Ego?" is a comic for if you have ever considered what would happen if all of your emotions developed into their own person and ran loose, how they would interact with each other, and how they would effect others. This comic offers humorous situations, emotional conflicts, and as much of the "WTF!?" formula as one can come to love.

The storyline is that a young man who has too much time let his mind wander too far and the world created his imaginary characters into real people. People who can't leave their city and if they do they just "respawn" back at their "starting point" which is wherever their most calm.

As you can see I know the storyline in my head, but putting it to words in a textual context is another thing. Don't worry if you do not understand it much. Basically it's the imaginary characters that a young man created who turned real, but each only is part of the young man's emotions. Here are a few of the planned characters:

Lazy Gamer - He's a common character who will most likely be featured often. He loves to play MMORPGs, especially Ragnarok Online, and is characterized by his mushroom cap, which is funny because I am horrible at the Mario games but the caps are so cute. He also is a frequent poster in the GaiaOnline forums.

Shout - He's a crazier personality that has to be locked in his room or else he might steal cats or something weird.

Gah - The sexual personality who can never seem to hit off with the ladies but you can be sure that he dreams and fantasizes.

This is all for now, I'll update this soon.

Comic Genesis
[info]tenkabuto
I found a great site on accident! XD Comic Genesis is a great website that gives web hosting and a sub domain to comic makers in return for their soul some ads being featured on the site! So I'll be posting comic ideas and character art in the future for possible comics before I go out there and ask for a CG account.
Oh, and if any CG forum members see this entry I'd just like to say hello to you and that I'm new to your community.

Wow.
[info]tenkabuto
This is only intended as a minor entry, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Yesterday I made a counter that was to be used for how many views my signature on Gaia got, how many MySpace profile views, and how many blog/entry views I got. Today it went up from around 100 or so in the morning (If that) and now it's currently: (Live image that updates with each entry view). Since this is a live preview, I'll just say that right now the count is at around 770.

Pokemon
[info]tenkabuto
Ah, you probably wouldn't expect this, if you aren't nerdy, but for those of us that are: here you are. Yes, a Pokemon entry. *Ahem*

It was a boring Sunday, the day of today, and a young lad had a craving for some adventure. Some adventure for the new. Some adventure for his inner-fanboy. This lad was craving Pokemon. Yes, Pokemon, the I-can't-believe-it's-not-crack type of game series that comes along every 6 months or so. So with about 2 reliable sources behind his belt (GameSpot & Wikipedia) he finds the game he wants, Pokemon. Thank the living heavens which watch over him as he gets ready for bed, he had the newest and greatest portable gaming machine, the Gizmondo Nintendo DS.

With a hearty breakfast of Captain Crunch in his stomach he starts his adventure my turning out his pants pockets and raiding his drawers for change, to only find a measly $12. Deeply confused about how his quest could come to such a halt so fast he begins to day dream to look out onto the long grass in his backyard with no ideas of how to get the money for which he craves. Around the same time his father enters the room after taking the last of the clean laundry into the upstairs bedrooms and rests his eyes upon his son who was gazing out at nothing.

"You know, you still have to mow the lawn every week." The lad's father says, looking from his son to the grass which was quite long.

"Hmm, okay." He says, not really understanding what this meant.

"Remember, you get $5 for each lawn." His father says, almost as though he was aiming at his son's sadness with a butter-knife.

This is a publication in progress.

First Day
[info]tenkabuto
Well, today is my first day of using LiveJournal! It seems a little weird to me right now, but everything does with my eyes, which are most likely bloodshot since it's now 2am in the morning. Ah~! I need sleep, but I can't get around to it!

Anyway, today's been an exciting day. I changed usernames twiceon Gaia! Yes, I sadly used up all my slots! Infact, I used up the last one a minute before starting to write this! Well, if you know me, don't know me, or know me only now with my new username Lazy Hentai, you don't know me very well.
*Ahem*
Funny enough, when I first made my account called Jesus_Lives, it was my way of having fun while being blasphemous and acting like I have a god complex, well, son-of-god complex. Now some may think this is weird that I changed from some nice name to some crude, perverted, weird name which contains "Hentai", well, since you didn't know my Jesus character I'll just tell you he was pretty perv'd. XD

Anyway! Back to my day: First I changed to the username Hentai Hunger, which I now regret 'cause I have no more counters for name-changing, but I liked it for a while, then decided "Hunger" was too much for me and it made me sound like some 40 year old guy behind his comp on Gaia looking for some little kiddy. O_O Ewwy. I changed it, thank goodness, to Lazy Hentai! The new name suits me well because of my laziness, bet you never would've guessed!

I shall edit this in the morning, I'm about to fall asleep!
